Succeed in your DRF application

Also known as doctoral fellowships and clinical research training fellowships, these highly competitive and popular funding awards support candidates to conduct high impact health research projects, undertake advanced research training and attain a PhD.

This course has two components: 1) One-to-one Application Session; 2) One-to-one Interview Session. These are offered exclusively as one-to-one sessions, as a bespoke approach is most suitable due to the sheer length and highly individual nature of each DRF application. Due to Covid-19 safety precautions, these services are offered fully online via Zoom in the comfort of your own home. This course is delivered by an experienced tutor with a strong track record. This course is eligible for study budget as an aspirational course (subject to local policy).

One-to-one Application Session

  • 2 hour one-to-one session via Zoom
  • You submit your draft application for review
  • You receive constructive feedback for improving your written application
  • Strategies for boosting your overall score per section, including:
    • Plain English summary
    • CV and research background
    • Scientific abstract
    • Research plan
    • Patient and public involvement
    • Training and development plan
  • Certificate of attendance awarded for study budget purposes

 One-to-one Interview Session

  • 2 hour one-to-one session via Zoom
  • You submit your draft interview 'pitch' presentation for review
  • Full mock interview with questions and feedback
  • You receive constructive feedback for improving your pitch and interview technique
  • Repeat pitch and challenging mock interview questions
  • Certificate of attendance awarded for study budget purposes
